Salizon Systems Private Limited (“we”) runs Preparelly. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who helps us process it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and phone number, and your Google account name and email if you sign in with Google.
- Learning records: the courses and batches you join, classes you book and attend, homework and project work you submit, and the certificates you earn.
- Payments: invoices, amounts and the payment references you or our payment partner give us. We do not see or store your card, bank login or UPI PIN.
- Trainers: the profile you choose to publish, your availability, and the UPI ID we pay you at.
- Devices: if you use the app and allow notifications, a notification token for your phone.
- Technical records: sign-in and security logs and an audit of changes made by staff.
Why we use it
To run your account and classes; to take payments and issue GST invoices; to send you codes, reminders and messages about your bookings and payments; to issue and verify certificates; to keep the service secure; and to meet our legal and tax obligations. We process it to provide the service you ask for, and where the law requires. We do not sell your data, and Preparelly has no advertising or analytics trackers.
Who processes it for us
We share data only with the service providers we need, under their own data-protection terms:
- Vercel (hosting and file storage), Neon (database), Upstash (short-lived security data), Inngest (scheduled jobs)
- Resend (email), Google Firebase (app notifications), MSG91 and Meta WhatsApp (text and WhatsApp messages, when used)
- Razorpay (online payments, when used), Google (sign-in with Google), YouTube (course videos)
Some of these providers process data outside India. Your trainers and institute staff see the data they need to teach and support you. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.
Cookies
We use only cookies the service needs: one that keeps you signed in, and a few that remember a message to show you or which version of the app to serve. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account and learning records are kept while your account is open and for as long as needed to verify your certificates. Invoices and payment records are kept for the period Indian tax law requires (currently eight years). Security logs are kept for a limited period.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct or complete it, or to erase it where we no longer need it, and you can withdraw consent to optional messages — in the app's notification settings or through the unsubscribe link in our emails. Write to support@salizon.com; we respond within 30 days. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.
